How To Get More Traffic With Your Blog – Don’t Wait For Traffic, Go Get It!
Obviously as we know, traffic is key to having a successful blog.
Blogging is a lot of work when you’re first starting up, and nothing is worse than putting all of that work in then, not seeing any traffic.
So how to get more traffic with your blog?
Promote your blog!
The BEST, I mean the BEST thing, especially for a new blogger to do is to promote your blog. I mean seriously, how is anyone supposed to see your blog if you’re not promoting it?
I’m going to tell you a couple thing’s I started doing to help my traffic increase, now remember, I started my blog about 5 months ago, I’m already making sales, gaining followers, building an email list, and getting my blog name out there. How did I do it? Promoting!
If I never promoted my blog, I would just have a little blog lost at sea with the rest of the thousands of bloggers not correctly promoting there blog… no fun!
Are you ready to start getting some traffic?

Tailwind is, and will forever be your blogging BFF.
Tailwind’s entire site is literally based on ways to drive traffic to your website. Let’s not forget you can also promote your Instagram page with Tailwind, more Instagram followers too? What What!
I will admit the first time I signed up for Tailwind I was extremely overwhelmed, I was a total newbie to blogging at that point, and I was never, I mean never good at figuring out websites. I logged on, looked at it, and shut my computer.
I pushed Tailwind to the side for about a month (huge mistake), so I could “focus” on my blog.
Finally, I decided to put my big girl pants on and figure it out, I immediately realized I was missing out, the first WEEK of using Tailwind my blog traffic increased by 1400%, in one week! These are my personal results, but Tailwind also publishes the Typical Results of Tailwind for Pinterest Members every year, so you can see exactly what the average growth rate looks like for their members!
So how do you use Tailwind? It’s actually a lot easier than I thought.
First off they have tutorial videos for everything, very detailed videos! Here’s some more way’s I use it, and find most success.
A tribe is a huge community of other bloggers sharing their pins, and their “tribe mates” can see it and repin it, to their Pinterest that consists of anything from 1 to millions of followers. That’s a lot of potential traffic to your blog!
Some tips for Tribes
- Always read, and follow the tribes rules, you will get kicked out if you break them!
- Read the tribe description before you join to assure your niche is what they pin about.
- Be sure to find some pins that your tribe mates submitted and “add it to your queue” (means your addidng it to your scedule to repin to your pinterest, will explain more later) every time you submit a pin to the board. Do not be that person that only submits pins to the board and never shares others pins. (you can also get kicked out for that)
- Talk to your tribe mates. It’s great to interact with your tribe mates, also it can help build friends that will want to visit your website and potentially find your blog beneficial for them, which then, they return. Win win!
- Take advantage of your monthly tribe submissions! Meaning if you’re a free member, you get 5 tribes you can be a part of and 30 monthly submissions to those tribes (not each tribe has 30 submissions, it’s 30 total)
- Check out the Tribe Powerups if you think and want more monthly submissions! You will not regret it.
Some Tribes I’m a part of
- Bloggers and Creative Infoprenuers Tripe: About Blogging, Infoprenuership, and Creative Online Business
- Bloggers Killin It On Pinterest: All topics allowed
- Her PaperRoute Blogging Hive: About Blogging, Design, Marketing, Entrepreneurs
Now these are just a few I’m a part of, remember to read the tribe rules, make sure they relate to your niche, and stay active in your tribes!
Tailwind Scheduled Pins
This has made my life so much easier! I had to do a double take when I saw what this was.
For the longest time I was spending about an hour a day repining and pining my pins. I had no idea that there was some amazing site out there scheduling your pins for you!! Pinch me, I must be dreaming!
I create a pin, add what I want for the description, and schedule it. Then Tailwind does the rest, they’ve calculated the best times for your pins to get released.
They’ve determined when your followers and people interested in your niche are most active.
Do things get better than, this?! I mean seriously!
Tailwind released one of my pins at 1am on Tuesday, and I got over 2.5k impressions, and 100+ page views to my blog in just under two hours of it going live! I would never have tried pinning something that late, because I thought it’d do the complete opposite of success that late… on a tuesday! Like I said before, these are my personal results, but you can always check here for Typical Results of Tailwind for Pinterest Members every year, so you can see exactly what the average growth rate looks like for their members!
I have IOS, and I’ve downloaded the Tailwind app which is really easy to navigate. Although, it does not have everything that the actual site does. I mainly use the app to schedule new pins I see, or ones I pin, and add it back to my schedule. Unfortunately Tailwind has yet to come out with an app for android, If that changes I will let you guys know!
This is actually new! (At the time of writing this)
So I am so excited to tell you about it! I’ve obviously just started using it but, it’s amazing.
Smartloop is a tool that you can schedule your pins in, but the best part is you can decide when you want to schedule them.
Meaning if they’re holiday pins and you only want them to go live during the holidays you can click that option. (be sure to add them to your loop a couple weeks before the holidays)
Also you can choose Evergreen, meaning they get repined year round until you remove them from your smartloop.
- Be sure to only add your top content pins, so if you have them on smartloop and you’re not getting and repins then, you should remove it from smartloop.
- Choose which option for the smartloop scheduler will best suit your amount of followers.
- Watch the tutorial videos provided by Tailwind
- Check your smartloop analytic to make sure your pins are performing well. If not, remove them from your loop.
Smartloop will decide for you when your pins will go live, but you will decide how often they will get pinned per week, or day.
Tailwind is free to sign up and test it out, as a free Tailwind member you will have access to up to 100 scheduled pins. After that you can upgrade to annual, calculating to $9.99 a month, or you can pay monthly for $14.99.
Tailwind has helped me get actual traffic to my blog! I didn’t start making any income from my blog until I started using Tailwind, now roughly 85% of my sites traffic is generated thru Pinterest (because of Tailwind)!
If your ready to bring your website to a new level and start getting some serious traffic click here to join Tailwind. Remember, you can start for free, but once you realize that this is ideal for your business, you will soon realize that going premium is the best option, and at an extremely low price.
If you don’t have a pinterest account, you can probably see by now that pinterest is a must have when you’re a blog owner. Pinterest is a massive search engine that millions of people are a part of now. The best way to get your content out there is promoting on pinterest. THRU Tailwind.
When you create a Pinterest account be sure to put it as a business account, it’s all free to do.
Did I mention that in the first couple days of using Tailwind my Pinterest monthly viewers went from 52 to 2.8k?
I’m serious when I say Tailwind is the best thing for your website!
One more tip
Start your email subscriber list now!
I waited to start mine because, simply, I was scared, I didn’t know how to approach it, and what to write. All these viewers that you’ll be getting might really like your content and might want to sign up to read more, which is obviously what you want. Start it now and don’t miss that potential of having more subscribers!
I subscribed to a lot of bloggers to see how they send out there emails, and what they talk about before I sent out my first email.
I use Mailerlite, something I recommend as they are really easy to navigate, have really easy to use and nice layouts, and it’s free for the first 1000 subscribers! Even after, 1000 subscribers it’s very affordable.
